Jewelry Care
Neji Jewelry pieces are made to last a lifetime. However, our beloved jewelry requires care and occasional maintenance. Here is what we recommend to help your jewelry achieve a long lifespan while looking fresh:
- It is best to avoid perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, water and sweat for all jewelry pieces.
- Semi-precious stones such as Mother of Pearl, Onyx, Turquoise, Moonstone, Garnet, Pearl, Sapphire and Tourmaline are vulnerable to sharp objects and pressure and will break or scratch if mistreated.
- Remove your jewelry before washing your hands or showering, especially if the item contains semi-precious stones.
- Keep your jewelry away from intense sources of heat and extreme temperature changes.
- For translucent stones with a solid backing, please avoid submerging in water as to not trap liquids behind the stone.
- Avoid sleeping in your jewelry. Rings, necklaces, and earrings can get tangled, or scratch and break from stress over time.
For Sterling Silver:
The more you love and wear it, the better it will keep its brightness and shine. If you are not wearing your sterling silver pieces every day, it is best to store them in an airtight container because tarnish can occur when sterling silver comes in contact with oxygen in the air. If you do see some tarnish, clean the piece with a jewelry polishing cloth. We recommend Sunshine cloth, which are available in our store.
For Solid Gold:
Solid gold is durable for everyday wear and it will keep its shine and luster for a long time. We recommend gently washing your gold pieces with unscented, clear dish soap and a soft toothbrush as desired. A Sunshine polishing cloth can also be used to shine your solid gold pieces. Sunshine cloth is available from our store.
